Subject: SafeNet Online Workshop: Future Management Options and Scenarios for European Forests
Dear Colleagues,
I hope this finds you well!
SafeNet, a Horizon Europe funded research & innovation project, co-develops practical, forward-looking
strategies for forest conservation, restoration and management to address the risks posed by climate change, unsustainable land use and management practices. SafeNet will deploy cutting-edge biodiversity monitoring and modelling coupled with scenario analyses,
and engages stakeholders in
four regional Living Labs
and at the European scale to co-create management options and scenarios.
We would like to invite you to the
first EU-level consultation of SafeNet, scheduled to the 11th of December 2-4 pm CET.
This workshop will introduce EU-level land use and climate scenarios and discuss about the prioritization of forest management and conservation choices relevant to foster
biodiversity. Hence, it will provide crucial input for the scenario and modelling activities carried out in the next phases of the project.
Your insights would be highly valuable to ensure the relevance and feasibility of SafeNet’s results and suggestions. By participating in this workshop, you will also
have a chance to share your research expectations and shape the future direction of the project’s scenario analyses.
If you are interested, please register to the event via
this link. The meeting link and a detailed agenda will be shared closer to the meeting with registered participants.
Please feel free to forward this invitation to colleagues who might be interested in this event.
All the best, Marion
