Dear colleagues,

Attached is the 2nd call for abstracts for the international conference on Urban Tree Diversity, to be held during June 16-18, 2014, in Alnarp (near Malmö), Sweden. Abstracts for parallel session and poster presentations should be submitted by the end of this year.

The event, co-organised by for example the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and the urban foresty group of IUFRO, will present and discuss state-of-art research on various aspects of urban tree diversity, from the policy to the maintenance level. The exciting line-up of keynote speakers includes Nina Bassuk of Cornell University, Tim Beatley of the University of Virginia (to be confirmed), Jason Grabosky of Rutgers University, Nina-Marie Lister of Ryerson University and Harvard, Ingo Kowarik of TU Berlin and Matthew Wells of the New York City Parks Department.

The conference will be hosted at the Alnarp campus of the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, which doubles as a learning landscape and recreational park. Participants will have a chance to visit Alnarp's Landscape Laboratory and urban tree diversity projects in Malmö, a city with am ambitious green agenda. Malmö will also host the conference dinner in it's historial town hall.

Visit the event's website (www.urbantreediversity.com) for further details and an overview of the programme.

Best wishes, on behalf of the organisers,

Cecil
