The IUFRO D5.06.02- Utilisation of Planted Teak will be collaborating with International Teak Information Network (TEAKNET) to organise a Partner Event in the forthcoming Asia-Pacific Forestry Week (APFW 2016), 22-26 February 2016, Pampanga, Philippines. The title of the Partner Event is "Global Importance of Teak- Present and Future". The Partner Event will take place in Widus Hotel, Clark FreePort Zone, Pampanga.
The Partner Event will be organised under Thematic Stream 1 " Pathways to prosperity: Future Trade and Markets. Thematic stream 1 will be co-led by the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) and the World
Resources Institute (WRI).
Asia Pacific Forestry Week 2016 is being organised by the FAO of the United Nations Regional Office for Asia Pacific, Bangkok, Thailand in association with The Republic of the Philippines' Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR). A brief description of the proposed Partner Event is attached herewith. Those who are participating in the APFW are encouraged to participate in the Partner event and actively contribute to the TEAKNET Session.
