Call for abstracts IUFRO - Please Distribute

The 2017 IUFRO All-Division 5 (Forest Products) Conference will be held in Vancouver, Canada from June 12th to 16th, 2017. The Conference is organized jointly by IUFRO Division 5, the Faculty of Forestry at the University of British Columbia, FPInnovations, and the Society of Wood Science and Technology. In recognition of the pressing global need for the forest sector to be a leader in sustainability, diversification, and innovation, the theme of the 2017 IUFRO Division 5 Conference is: Forest Sector Innovations for a Greener Future.

We are organizing a technical session on Evolution of the Global Wood-based BioEnergy Sector, and are currently soliciting presenters. If you are interested in submitting a presentation or poster on this topic, the Call for Abstracts is now open (Deadline October 31, 2016)!

Title: Evolution of the Global Wood-based BioEnergy Sector

Over the past 15 years, the global wood-based BioEnergy sector has dramatically evolved into what is now a major part of international forestry. Billions of dollars in investments have been made to research, create and commercialize new energy sources, fuels, chemicals, and value-added co-products. This session will examine the structural, policy, and business infrastructures of this nascent global sector. In addition, business and governmental leaders will share experiences, opportunities, and challenges in this ever-changing arena.
