Dear IUFRO-Division 4 members,

I am thrilled to invite everyone to the international conference ForestCORE - Sustainability, Ecosystem Services and Nature-based Solutions, an event that aims to facilitate a technical and scientific dialogue to understand the synergies and trade-offs between timber production and forest ecosystem services, and to expand the discussion to alternative and emerging markets of nature-based solutions. The conference includes: i) forest biometrics, quantitative ecology, forest inventory, remote sensing, and small-area estimation; ii) quantitative silviculture and genetics; and iii) forest planning, economics, and finance.

Huge thanks to ForestCORE co-directors Laura Flórez Botero (Ingeobosque) and Dr. Sergio Alonso Orrego Suaza (Universidad Nacional de Colombia, sede Medellín), and to Lina Motta Barrera (Ingeobosque) and María Paulina Vásquez Patiño (Ingeobosque) for their assistance in conference planning.  We also appreciate the support of IUFRO’s Research Groups 4.03.00 - Landscape analysis and decision support and 4.04.00 - Forest management planning, and their coordinator officials, Drs. Bogdan M Strimbu (Oregon State University) and Pete Bettinger (University of Georgia).

We look forward to hearing from you (abstract submission is open, registration coming soon!) and seeing you in Medellin, Colombia, in June 2026.
