The IUFRO units 4.04.04 and 3.04.00 as well as Division 3.00.00 and 4.00.00 are sponsoring the 2021 Symposium on Systems Analysis in Forest Resources (SSAFR) which will be held in Estes Park, Colorado, USA, August 8-11, 2021 (https://sites.warnercnr.colostate.edu/ssafr2021/). This will be the 19th symposium in a series starting 1975 that has long provided a) a venue for presentation of state-of-the-art applications of operations research and systems analysis in forest resources management planning and policy analysis, and b) opportunities for a fertile exchange of ideas among forest researchers, students and practitioners.
Topics to be addressed at this symposium include, but are not limited to:
· Forest management and planning
· Forest transportation and supply chain optimization
· Wildfire management and decision support
· Forest health, invasive species and wildlife habitat management
· Data science, statistics and machine learning in forestry
· Spatial optimization
· Stochastic process, simulation and optimization
· Quantitative analysis in forest and wildfire economics and social science
· Watershed management
The conference website is now open for abstract submission (https://sites.warnercnr.colostate.edu/ssafr2021/registration/). Please make your abstract concise (< 300 words). The deadline for abstract submission is January 31, 2021, but earlier submission is definitely appreciated.
We are looking forward to your abstract and to meeting you at the Symposium!
