Betreff: [iufrosmallscale] Upcoming IUFRO Small-scale Forestry/Extension and Knowledge Exchange 2025 Conference
Dear colleagues,
There is still time to register for the upcoming joint meeting of the IUFRO 3.08.00 Small Scale Forestry research group and 9.01.03
Extension and Knowledge Exchange working group in Everett, WA, USA, 8 – 10 September 2025. The discounted early registration rate is extended through 31 July. Discounted hotel room rates are available until 18 August.
Also, we may have room for more papers to be presented. If you have not submitted an abstract but would like to, please contact
me as soon as possible.
The conference includes two days of presentations as well as a full-day in-conference field trip that will visit unique community-managed
forests. Stops will also include Snoqualmie Falls and the famous Ivar’s Salmon House in Seattle for a Pacific Northwest buffet dinner. All meals and the field trip are included in the conference registration, and discounted rooms are available at the conference
hotel.
Following the conference is an optional three-day post-conference tour of small-scale forestry in volcano country. We’ll visit several
small forest landowners managing forests in the foothills of the Cascades, including the latest winner of the National Outstanding Tree Farmer of the Year award. We will also visit both Mount Rainier and Mount St. Helens, where you will see how volcanic activity
has shaped the Pacific Northwest landscape, visit Pacific Northwest old growth forests, and stay at the historic Paradise Inn.
