Individuals and institutions are invited to nominate candidates for the Marcus Wallenberg Prize between 1 March and 31 May 2021.
The Prize is awarded for scientific achievements of importance to forestry and forest industries.
The aim of the Prize is to recognize, encourage and stimulate path-breaking scientific achievements which contribute significantly to broader knowledge and/or technical development within all subjects relevant to
the forest based sector all over the world. The achievements may be of widely different characters – from forest ecosystem, conservation and management through process, product and service developments contributing to the sustainable development of society.
Confidential process
One researcher or a group of two to four can be nominated. The statutes of the of the Marcus Wallenberg Foundation do not allow any person to nominate herself or himself.
The candidates will be assessed and graded initially on the basis of the nomination and further reviewed by the Marcus Wallenberg Prize Selection Committee, in a continuous process with the help of appointed external
expert reviewers. Each nomination will be valid for a period of 3 years.
All information should be obtained without involving the candidate(s) and the whole process is kept secret. The Prize-winner(s) will be announced by the Board in the first quarter of each calendar year.
