Dear Participants of the 7th IUFRO 2.09.02 conference in Harbin (China).

We hope you enjoyed the scientific and social programme of the conference and that you had a safe journey back. We were delighted to welcome you in Harbin, and it was more than timely to get back to major networking activity in our scientific community. We are confident that this event will contribute to foster opportunities for both formal and unformal collaborations and we look forward to seeing you again no later than at our next 8th IUFRO 2.09.02 conference to be held in Savonlinna (Finland) 2028.

I would like to share with you some information regarding the publication of the papers presented at our last IUFRO Working Party 2.09.02 meeting.

There will be two publication options:

1.-Original research papers can be submitted for publication in the Journal of Forestry Research (https://link.springer.com/journal/11676), as mentioned by Dr. Shen during the conference. These papers will be considered for publication in a special issue/volume. Please, check the instructions in the web of the journal.

2.-Abstracts and extended abstracts will be published online, as has traditionally been the case.

For the option 2, 2e will accept as usual i) extended abstracts, and updated versions of iii) short abstracts.

Deadline

To be included in the Proceedings, manuscript must be submitted in English by March 31, 2027 to pmoncalean@neiker.eus with cc to: jcanhoto@uc.pt and Wangjh@caf.ac.cn. A submission receipt will be provided by Email. Please inquire if any deadline extension is needed.

Review process

Abstract and extended abstract will be checked by one member of the Editorial Committee for quality-science standard, minor editing, and compliance with the guideline for submission. Authors are solely responsible for the technical details of the paper. Extensive language editing by reviewers is excluded. It is the authors' responsibility to submit a well-written article in suitable English. We suggest careful proofread of the English before submission.

Paper acceptance

Manuscript will be accepted with reduced delay (no or minor revision) or upon reception of any necessary significant revision.

Guideline for submission

Please strictly refer to the following short guideline for preparing your manuscript:

General format

Paper size A4

Margins 2.5 cm on all four sides.

General text format Times New Roman 11 pt.

Single spaced, fully justified.

Standard rules Measurement units should be metric

Latin scientific names should be italicised
