Dear Participants to ‘Coimbra2018’,
Dear Contributors to the Proceedings of ‘Coimbra2018’,
Dear Members of the IUFRO 2.09.02 Unit and colleagues of IUFRO Division 2,
Following the 5th Conference of the IUFRO Unit 2.09.02 “Somatic embryogenesis and other vegetative propagation technologies” that was held in Coimbra, Portugal (University
of Coimbra, Center for Functional Ecology, Sept. 10-15, 2018), we are pleased to announce that the
Proceedings on “Clonal Trees in the Bioeconomy Age: Opportunities and Challenges” have now been published at the following IUFRO webpages:

Please forward this advertisement to any colleague in your team interested by vegetative propagation technologies of trees and other woody plants and related issues!
On behalf of all IUFRO 2.09.02 Members, we would like here to warmly thank
Pr. Jorge Canhoto & Dr. Sandra Correia (University of Coimbra, Portugal) and the
whole local organizing team of this successful IUFRO 2.09.02 conference (122 attendees), the hosting/supporting organizations as well as all other sponsors. IUFRO's support to facilitate our scientific exchange and networking events is also greatly appreciated.
Thank you to all contributors to these Proceedings (328 pages) which contain 63 contributions (24 full papers, 14
extended abstracts and 25 short abstracts). We take this opportunity to also express our deep gratitude to
Dr. Jan M. Bonga and Dr. Yill-Sung Park (NRC/Canadian Forest Service) who offered again to handle all the submissions during the reviewing process. Definitely, without your invaluable help and extensive experience, the Proceedings could not have been
published so quickly!
We hope that you will enjoy the Proceedings and find both scientific information of great interest for your research and networking and also wonderful memories of ‘Coimbra2018’. We
encourage you to continuously promote the activities of our IUFRO Unit, in particular through the dissemination/citation of the contributions in these Proceedings.
Our 6th IUFRO 2.09.02 Conference is already scheduled next year in
2020 (dates to be confirmed). Pr. Hailong Shen (Northeast Forestry University) is planning to welcome us in
Harbin, China. Thank you so much Pr. Shen for the great proposal to organize
Harbin 2020! We would like therefore to kindly suggest to all our members that you consider this conference on vegetative propagation of trees as your primary choice to get funding from your institutions when planning to attend conferences in 2020! Join
us for the latest advances in vegetative propagation of trees and also to discover the world-renowned “Ice City” with rich historical and cultural heritages!
Enjoy your reading and looking forward to hearing from you at upcoming IUFRO 2.09.02 activities and events, especially Harbin 2020!
Do not hesitate to contact us for any inquiry/idea about vegetative propagation of trees in the frame of the IUFRO 2.09.02 Unit. Some useful information (positions, events, etc.) can
be posted at our Unit Noticeboard (https://www.iufro.org/science/divisions/division-2/20000/20900/20902/noticeboard/). We would like also to remember you that IUFRO
is offering the possibility for any registered Member to contact the whole IUFRO 2.09.092 membership through sending Emails to
wp20902@lists.iufro.org (scientific and technical issues, networking, etc.). The list is a moderated list by IUFRO HeadQuarters so that your posts will be held until they are approved (inappropriate contents will
be discarded).
If not already a member, log in at
https://www.iufro.org/science/divisions/division-2/20000/20900/20902/mailing-list/ to join the WP 2.09.02 list (currently 711 members from 68 countries) and be able to send information, questions, thoughts and more!
